Vixen is the trailblazing all-female hard rock band of the ’80s, known for selling over a million albums, earning six #1 MTV videos, and landing four songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Founded in St. Paul, Minnesota by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, the band rose to fame with its classic lineup—Janet Gardner, Roxy Petrucci, and Share Ross—after signing with EMI in 1987.
Their self‑titled debut delivered the hit “Edge of a Broken Heart,” launching them into heavy MTV rotation and major touring slots with artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, and Eddie Money. Their follow-up album Rev It Up produced more fan favorites, including “How Much Love” and “Love Is a Killer,” solidifying their status as a serious force in rock.
Though the band disbanded in the early ’90s, various reunions and releases followed. After Kuehnemund’s passing in 2013, the remaining classic members continued the Vixen legacy, bringing their high‑energy show to festivals and stages worldwide.
Today’s lineup; featuring drummer Roxy Petrucci, guitarist Britt Lightning, bassist Julia Lage, and powerhouse vocalist Rosa Laricchiuta, keeps the spirit of Vixen alive. With electrifying performances and a loyal global fanbase, Vixen continues to prove that their legacy is as strong as ever.
