The game of poker has many variants, making it one of the most versatile and exciting games, thereby contributing to its popularity and longevity. High Card Flush is one variant that has fast grown in popularity, making it one of the most played games at casinos across the country. The game is easy to learn, has a lot of betting options and it’s just plain fun to play.

Playing High Card Flush is easy. Here’s some information to get you started, so that you can have a great time while you’re visiting Spokane Tribe Casino.

How to Play

As the name suggests, the object of the game is to get the highest flush. Each player has seven cards, and the goal is to get as many of those cards to be included in a flush as possible – ideally, all seven. If the player has more cards in their flush than the dealer, they win!

If the player and dealer have the same number of cards, the winner will be determined by who has the highest card, such as an ace. If both players have the same high card, the next card will be evaluated for the highest – and so on until one hand beats the other or until both hands are determined equal.

Betting

All players place a bet against the dealer before they receive their cards. Once players receive their cards, they can place another bet to play, or they can fold their hand and forfeit their previous bet. What kind of raise is recommended depends on how many cards are in the flush.

Once everyone makes their choice, the dealer exposes their cards. To win, the dealer must meet or exceed the minimum qualifying hand, which is a three card, 9-high flush or better. If the dealer’s hand does not qualify, the Ante bet is paid and the Raise bet pushes. If the dealer does qualify and the player’s hand ranks higher than the dealer’s hand, even money is paid.  If the player’s hand ties with the dealer’s hand, the ante and raise bets are pushed.

Optional side bets are available in High Card Flush, including a Flush Bonus, a Straight Flush Bonus and some of the area’s largest progressive jackpots.  Side bets still win if you fold.
