Amanda Brigman-Abrahamson is a proud member of the Spokane Tribe, born and raised on the Spokane Indian Reservation. She was raised by a widowed mother and very thankful she was taught hunting, fishing, gathering traditional plants, medicines, traditional dancing, and art.

She started sewing, crafting, and learning about traditional plants at a very young age. She was taught by her late grandmother and every trip to the woods, or the garden was lesson on traditional foods and medicines. These teachings created a strong and independent warrior woman. She is a mother of three children who she is passing the traditional teachings and an excellent teacher who leads classes in canning fish, game, and berries, sewing star quilts and traditional regalia, ribbon skirts, beading, parfleche bags, cradle board, baby moss bags and yoga.
